Hello,

I had a nice show weekend with my new horses Lento and Donnelly. I started with them for the first time in Gran Prix and in Gran Prix Special. Lento I have been riding about 3 months and Donnelly just 4 weeks!
For everyone's surprise Lento won the Gran Prix. He was little tense in the walk and and one flying change in ziksak was short but otherwise I was really happy about him. He scored 67,9%. Donnelly ended on fifht place. We made some big mistakes and that make the % low.
Lento was the first horse to start in the special. He made really nice job and was always concentrated on me. We got some short changes in 2 tempis but the rest of test test wasgood. He got 69.5% and won again! With Donnelly I was also happy. He was better to ride and piaff and passage went better. Mistakes in one tempis between the pirouettes and in extented trot were expencive.
The long drive was worth it!

Olympialeiri Vierumäki

Hei!

Vietin kuluneella viikolla 2 päivää Vierumäellä Olympiakomitean järjestämällä Olympic Training Campillä. Mukana oli iso joukko Olympialaisiin ehdolla olevia tai jo kisoihin kvaalanneita urheilijoita. Saimme 2 päivän aikana paljon hyödyllistä tietoa Olympialaisista sekä ohjeita niihin valmistautumiseen. Lisäksi tutustuimme toisiin urheilijoihin useista eri lajeista. Olin ainoana ratsastajana paikalla ja kaikki muut urheilijat olivat minulle ennestään vieraita. Oli kuitenkin mukava tutustua ja kuulla myös muiden lajien karsinnoista ja treeneistä. Lisäksi ohjelmaan kuului leirikisa! Meidät jaettiin kuuteen eri joukkueeseen, jotka vuorollaan suorittivat 6 eri rastia, joissa oli mm. viestijuoksua, krikettiä, tietovisaa, palloilua ja mediapaja. Kuuluin joukkueeseen, joka taisteli tiensä voittoon!
Leiristä sain paljon uutta puhtia treeniin ja halu Olympialaisiin osallistumiseen vaan kasvoi!

Donaueschingen

Hei kaikki!

Ei nyt ollut meidän viikonloppu. Sini oli jo perjantaista lähtien treenissä hermostunut kaikesta hälinästä mitä kilpailupaikalla oli eikä meinannut rentoutua millään. Perjantain treeni meni siinä vain hölkätessä ja Siniä rauhoitellessa. Lauantaina aamulla otin vielä Sinin ulos ja pääareenalle. Se sujui jo vähän paremmin ja Sini malttoi jo hieman keskittyä minuun. Sain lähtöpaikaksi mukavasti numero 1:n. Sini oli verryttelyssä jo oma itsensä ja lähdin hyvin mielin radalle. Ensimmäisessä lisätyssä ravissa tunsin jo miten Sini jännittyi ja saimme tahtirikon. Ravi sulut ja ensimmäinen passage-piaff osuus vielä sujui jotenkuten, mutta käynnissä Sinin jännittyneisyys jo selvästi näkyi. Jotenkin onnistuin luotsaamaan Sinin radan läpi viimeiselle keskihalkaisijalle, jossa emme sitten päässeetkään enää eteenpäin. Sini taisi saada jonkun flash backin EM-kisoista ja sirkus vaihde iski päälle. Valitettavasti jouduin jälleen keskeyttämään suorituksen ja niin me pakkasimme kamat autoon ja suuntasimme takaisin kotiin.
Luulen, että lähdemme taas ensin hieman rutiinin hakuun, jotta Sini pääsee taas sisälle kilpauluhevosen elämään. Pää pystyyn ja kohti uusia haasteita.

Donaueschingen

Hello,

The truck is packed again and ready to go to the next show. Tomorrow we will drive to Donaueschingen. It's starts with vet check on Friday and the Gran Prix is on Saturday. The preparing has been going well and Sini Spirit feels good. I'm looking forward to this weekend!

Ollaan toivuttu EM:istä ja nyt nokka kohti uusia koitoksia. Huomenna käännetään heppa-auto kohti Etelä-Saksaa ja Donaueschingeniä. Perjantaina on vet check ja lauantaina ensimmäinen luokka. Valmistautuminen on sujunut hyvin ja Sini Spirit tuntuu hyvälle. Positiivisella fiiliksellä mennään!

Sini Santos second in S class!

Last weekend I competed with Sini Santos for the first time on S level. He did nice job, no big mistakes, only the pirouettes in canter need more practice. He scored 67,65% und was second after my other horse Fiaro Lacendos who is more experienced than Santos on that level.

Osallistuin viikonloppuna Sini Santoksen kanssa ensimmäistä kertaa S-luokkaan, joka oli avoin 7-8 vuotiaille hevosille. Santos teki puhtaan radan, joskin piruetit vaativat vielä harjoittelua. Tulos hienot 67,65%. Samassa luokassa ratsastin myös toisella hevosella Fiaro Lacendos, joka on jo hieman kokeneempi tällä tasolla. Fiaro voitti luokan ja Santos oli hienosti depyytissään toinen!

Sunday

The day after. I slept over the night and thought about what happened. I'm still very suprised that Sini reacted that way because he has never done anything like that. But at the end I'm still happy that I got so far and we were able to ride in European championschips. Now there is only one way, to look forward. Once again I learned a lot and got also some nice memories.
We will drive home today after the freestyle and then tomorrow I go to work like always.

Saturday

So today was the special. And it didn't go very well... When I started my warm up Sini felt already a lot nervous than before Gran Prix. I couldn't make him to calm down, there was not enough time. And in the test he got so tense and scared that he got out of control. There was nothing for me to do than to put my hand up. I'm really sad about what happened.

Friday

Today we have a day off. I worked Sini already early in the morning and he felt good. I thought he might be tired but everything was ok. We didnt train too much that he still has enough power left for the special tomorrow. My starting time wil be at 14:33. I hope there will be time today to see the city of Rotterdam. So far what I have seen it looks wonderful!

Thursday

Unbelievable! I'm so happy right now. I didn't expect such a good result from the Gran Prix. Sini felt good from the beginning and even if we made mistakes in 2 tempis I'm still very happy about it. I was a bit afraid that Sini doesn't have enough condition to make it trough the test because he just had the break. I did my best to help him and he really gave everything. He is a fighter. Tomorrow is a free day and I will ride Sini only little bit in the morning. Saturday is the Special. It's wonderful that also Terhi and Fia qualified for it. So there are 3 Finnish riders in the semifinals! 

I think the most stressful day this week with the vet check is over! All our team members passed it and finally it is becoming real that we have a team in European championships! I can't be happier about it! Also my training went much better than yesterday. Sini was more relaxed and concentrated on the main arena than yesterday.
Tomorrow it starts. The first half from all the riders, 2 members from each team, will do the Gran Prix and the other half will do it on Thursday. My starting time will be on thursday at 11.51. So tomorrow I'm going to train Sini  with Hubertus and then support Terhi and Alexandra when they have their tests.

3. Day

Slowly everything is working out here. More horses are coming every day and our team
is also now complete. Fia and Terhi arrived yesterday. Now we are waiting for the vet check. I'm going to ride Sini in the evening because I have to wait that my trainer arrives.

The journey begins!

We left home today early in the afternoon. Sini travelled well and after 5 hours drive we arrived to Rotterdam. The show place was not quite ready yet and only few lorries were already there. Later in the evening I took Sini out for training. He felt good, very relaxed which I'm happy about. Tomorrow we are able to train on the main arena.

Rotterdam and European championships are coming closer and closer. Sini Spirit is recovering in time and I
still hope that we could participate.
In our stables everything is normal and I have still many horses to ride. I'm very happy about Happy Louis that I had the opportunity to ride him in some Gran Prix shows. Even if in Verden we failed. It was important to me to get the routine because we had such a long break with Sini.

EM lähestyy

Moikka!
Elokuun puoliväli ja Euroopanmestaruus kisat lähestyvät kovaa vauhtia. Sini Spirit on kuntoutumassa ja kaikkien vastoinkäymisten jälkeen saattaa EM reissu sittenkin onnistua! Vielä täytyy pitää sormet ja varpaat ristissä, että kaikki sujuu loppuun asti hyvin.
Muuten tallilla kaikki sujuu entiseen malliin ja hevosia riittää ratsastettavaksi. Olen ollut iloinen, että olen saanut startata Happy Louisilla muutamat GP-radat vaikka Verdenissä epäonnistuimmekin. On hyvä kuitenkin pitää tuntumaa yllä sillä viimeisestä startista Sini Spiritin kanssa on kulunutkin jo jonkin aikaa.
